ForVue for Hospitable: connect, sync, and first 7 days.
Everything a Hospitable host needs from connection through your first owner statement. The connection itself is one click — most of this guide is about what happens after.
Version 1.0 · Last updated May 2026 · ~8 minute read · Questions?
Unlike most integrations, there is no API key to request, no token to generate, and no IT ticket to file. You need exactly two things:
1.1 A Hospitable account you can log into
You connect by signing into Hospitable through their standard authorization screen and approving ForVue. If you can log in to Hospitable and you manage the properties you want to bring into ForVue, you have everything you need.
1.2 Authority to approve an app on the account
Whoever clicks "Connect with Hospitable" must be able to authorize a connected application on that Hospitable account. For most hosts that's just you. For larger teams, it's whoever administers the Hospitable account.
You never share a password or API key with ForVue.
Connection happens through Hospitable's official OAuth flow. You sign in on Hospitable's own screen — ForVue never sees your Hospitable password. Hospitable hands ForVue a revocable access token scoped to the read permissions you approve.
SECTION 2Trial, billing, and account structure
2.1 The 7-day free trial
Every new ForVue account starts with a 7-day free trial. You enter a card at signup (Stripe) so the trial converts seamlessly — but you are not charged until day 8. Cancel any time during the trial from Stripe and you owe nothing.
2.2 Pricing after the trial
$2.50 per active rental unit per month, billed monthly via Stripe. A 20-unit portfolio is $50/month.
Your unit count tracks your synced portfolio, so billing follows acquisitions and dispositions automatically.
No setup fees. No per-report charges. No annual lock-in.
Annual prepay discount available on request.
2.3 Account structure
One ForVue account per portfolio. Inside that account, every daily user gets their own login (no shared passwords). The account owner can invite users in Settings → Team.
SECTION 3Connecting Hospitable — one click
There are two ways in, depending on whether you already have a ForVue account.
3.1 New to ForVue (from the Hospitable Apps Marketplace or the marketing page)
You'll land on Hospitable's own authorization screen. Sign in and review the read permissions ForVue is requesting (listed in Section 6). Click Authorize.
3
Set your password and confirm pricing
ForVue reads your email and property count from Hospitable to pre-fill a short welcome screen. Set a password, confirm the $2.50/unit/month pricing and 7-day trial, and save your card via Stripe. No charge until day 8.
4
Watch the first sync
ForVue immediately begins importing your portfolio. You'll see a sync screen; most accounts are ready in 30–60 seconds, after which your dashboard loads automatically.
3.2 Already have a ForVue account
1
Settings → Integrations → Hospitable → Connect
The gear icon (⚙️) is in the top-right of the ForVue chrome. Settings → Integrations lists every platform ForVue can connect to. Click Hospitable, then Connect, and approve ForVue on Hospitable's authorization screen. Your sync starts immediately.
What you should see when it works
Your properties list populates · Recent reservations and reviews appear · The Hospitable integration card shows a green "connected" state with a "Last sync" timestamp.
SECTION 4What syncs, and how often
ForVue connects through Hospitable's official Vendor API and keeps your data current two ways:
Live webhooks. Hospitable pushes new reservations, reviews, messages, and issue flags to ForVue in real time as they happen.
Full reconciliation every 6 hours. A complete re-pull runs on a schedule so nothing slips through if a webhook is ever missed.
On the first connection, ForVue pulls your full history: properties, units, reservations (past, current, and upcoming), reviews, guest messages, Hospitable issue flags, and calendar notes.
SECTION 5What ForVue does with your data
This is the part that matters. ForVue is a predictive-maintenance layer — it reads your guest communications and reservation history to surface maintenance issues early and forecast appliance failures. Here is exactly what happens, in plain terms.
5.1 Maintenance signal detection
Every new guest message, review, and Hospitable issue flag is scanned for maintenance-relevant language (for example: leak, no hot water, AC not cooling, broken, smoke, flooding). When a signal is found, ForVue does three things:
Logs a service event on the affected property, storing the matched terms and the source quote from the guest so you can see exactly what triggered it.
Updates the property's risk score, factoring the signal into ForVue's predictive model.
Sends a critical in-app alert (titled "⚠️ Guest Issue Detected") when the signal comes from a structured Hospitable issue flag, so urgent items surface at the top of your dashboard.
What ForVue does not do
ForVue does not reply to your guests, does not pick or dispatch vendors, and does not send any message on your behalf. It detects the signal, logs it, scores it, and alerts you — you decide what to do. ForVue never has write access to your Hospitable account.
5.2 Failure prediction
For each appliance ForVue tracks (HVAC, water heater, refrigerator, washer, mini-split, and more), it runs per-appliance survival math to estimate when that unit is most likely to fail — factoring in age, usage intensity derived from your occupancy, maintenance keyword signals, and service history. The dashboard surfaces these as risk bands so you can replace proactively rather than during a guest's stay.
SECTION 6Scopes & data flow — what we touch, what we never touch
6.1 The read permissions ForVue requests
All read-only. You approve these on Hospitable's authorization screen.
Scope
What it lets ForVue read
property:read
Your properties and their details
listing:read
Your listings across connected channels
reservation:read
Reservations — past, current, and upcoming — and their statuses
reservation:financials
Reservation revenue, used for owner-statement allocation and revenue-impact ranking
message:read
Guest message content, scanned for maintenance signals
reviews:read
Public ratings and private feedback, scanned for maintenance signals
calendar:read
Calendar and occupancy, used to derive appliance usage intensity
6.2 What ForVue NEVER touches
Guest payment / card data — never requested, never seen
Any write operation to your Hospitable account (no replies, no edits, no bookings) — ForVue requests no write scopes
Your Hospitable password — you authenticate on Hospitable's own screen; ForVue never receives it
You can revoke ForVue's access at any time from your Hospitable account → Apps page. Revocation is immediate — ForVue stops pulling within seconds. You can also disconnect from the ForVue side in Settings → Integrations → Hospitable.
SECTION 7Owner statements & reports
Once service events are flowing, ForVue can roll them up into reports.
7.1 Monthly Owner Statement
In Reports, the Owner Statement generator lets you pick a month and produce a printable statement of that month's maintenance costs, grouped by property and unit, with per-unit subtotals and full line-item detail (date, event type, appliance, technician, invoice number, costs). Open it and use your browser's Print → Save as PDF to share it with an owner or bookkeeper.
7.2 Portfolio reports
The Reports section also includes Portfolio Risk, Maintenance Cost History, Cost Savings, and Projected Failures — each with a CSV export for your own analysis.
SECTION 8Security & compliance
Encryption in transit: TLS 1.3 on all traffic between you, ForVue, and Hospitable.
Encryption at rest: AES-256 on all customer data. Your Hospitable refresh token is stored encrypted.
Hosting: United States only (us-east-1).
Authentication: bearer tokens (no third-party cookies), bcrypt-hashed passwords, brute-force protection (5 failures per 15 minutes per account), per-user rate limiting.
Revocable access: disconnect from your Hospitable Apps page at any time and ForVue stops pulling within seconds.
SOC 2 Type II: in progress, target completion Q4 2026.
SECTION 9Monthly cadence — how mature hosts use ForVue
Weekly (5 minutes)
Skim your notifications for any "Guest Issue Detected" alerts and act on the urgent ones.
Open the Portfolio Risk Dashboard and investigate any property that moved up a risk band.
Monthly (15–20 minutes)
Generate the Owner Statement for the prior month and send it to any owners you report to.
Review the proactive-vs-reactive maintenance mix and confirm new service events are mapped to the right appliances.
Quarterly
Review the Projected Failures report and schedule proactive replacements for appliances in the immediate / 30-day bands.
Recalibrate appliance brand-tier or usage-intensity overrides where your operating reality differs from the defaults.
SECTION 10Troubleshooting
The connection screen sent me to a Hospitable error
Confirm you're logged into the correct Hospitable account before clicking Connect.
Make sure you have authority to approve a connected app on that account.
If you see an "invalid client" or redirect error, the listing may still be in review on Hospitable's side — contact wise@investwisecap.com and we'll confirm status.
My properties haven't appeared yet
Large portfolios can take longer than 60 seconds on the first sync. Properties appear as they finish importing.
Wait for the full reconciliation (runs every 6 hours) or trigger a manual sync from Settings → Integrations → Hospitable.
If nothing appears after a few minutes, email wise@investwisecap.com with your account email.
I want to stop ForVue from accessing my account
Revoke access from your Hospitable account → Apps page, or disconnect in ForVue under Settings → Integrations → Hospitable. Either stops data pulls immediately.
Billing question
Settings → Account → Manage Billing opens the Stripe customer portal. Update your card, download invoices, or change your billing email there.
